images-5Ann Marie Gardinier Halstead is the author of the children’s play, Have You Filled a Bucket Today? (,  The play is a bullying-prevention story for young audiences based on the award-winning children’s books by Carol McCloud.  The adaptation, with its positive bullying-prevention message and larger-than-life characters, has been produced by schools, colleges, theatre companies, churches and character education groups in the U.S. and abroad.  Ann Marie has  presented on bullying-prevention programming and the arts at the American Association of University Women’s New York State Convention, Theatre Symposium, NCPR, the international television program The Big Picture With Thom Hartmann.

Ann Marie is an Associate Professor of Performance at St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York where she directs productions and teaches acting, directing, children’s theatre and theatre for social change. Prior to teaching at St. Lawrence, Ann Marie taught at Laramie County Community College in Cheyenne, Wyoming and East Syracuse-Minoa High School in Syracuse, New York. She has an MFA in Theatre Pedagogy/Directing from Virginia Commonwealth University and a BA in English/Secondary Education from Le Moyne College.
